The orchid genus Brassia belongs to the Oncidiinae subtribe. Its native range includes Mexico, Central America, the West Indies, and northern South America, with one species (B. caudata) reaching into Florida. William Brass, a British botanist and illustrator who collected plants in Africa under Sir Joseph Banks’ supervision, was given the name of the genus. In the horticultural industry, it’s referred to as Brs.


50-70% sunlight daily. Semi-shade on the leaf type. Water at the roots only after potting media has dried out completely. Do not allow roots to soak in water. Fertilise with Our fertilizer twice a week.  Fertilizer For Growing Flowering.  Repot with coarse potting medium. E.g. charcoal.
