Caladiums are lovely decorative foliage plants with brightly coloured, variegated heart-shaped leaves with veined patterns. The leaves are available in various hues, including green, pink, reds, silver, cream, and neon pink. They make excellent houseplants, but their paper-thin leaves are easily damaged by dry air; hence, place them in a humidity tray or a pebble tray.

These plants are incredibly gratifying because they can be cultivated all year indoors and supply you with stunning beauty for months.

Care Tips

Indoors: indirect light (curtain-filtered sunshine from a bright east, west, or south window) or soft shadow.  

Water: should be kept uniformly wet and should never be allowed to dry out. Reduce watering in the autumn, when plants naturally cease growing.

Humidity: Keep the humidity as high as possible. The plant should be placed on a pebble tray or a humidity tray. Use a room humidifier for the most incredible effects.

Temperature: Because the plant thrives in warmth, maintain it between 70 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and 55 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit at night. Place the plant in a draft-free part of the house, away from air conditioners and regularly opened doors or windows. After being exposed to rapid temperature changes caused by drafts, the leaves will perish fast.

Fertilizing: Improve soil fertility while the plant is actively developing by scraping some compost into two soil without disturbing the plant’s roots. Then, every month, feed the plant a balanced, water-soluble, such as fertilizer For Growing, diluted at a rate of 1 teaspoon/litre of water.

Repotting: When the plant grows too huge, repot it in a well-aerated potting material.
