Flower in Marble Pot, Flower in Plastic Pot
Colmanara Hybrid (4 spikes)
Colmanara is an orchid complex hybrid of three different orchid species (Oncidium, Miltonia, Odontoglossum). Flowers appear on long branching spikes and last 1 to 3 months. Flowers are often maroon and yellow in colour, with mahogany bars and white lips.
Growing conditions: Light that has been filtered or is indirect. An east-facing window, or a shaded south or west window, is required. Grow in common orchid potting soil. The optimum temperature range is between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit (15-27C). Reduce the nighttime temperature to 50-55F (10-13C) for about three weeks in November to ensure healthy flowering the following spring. Drafts should be avoided.
Misting and watering: During the growth season, spray often and water liberally. Watering should be reduced throughout the winter. The medium should be damp but not dripping wet. Allow the plant to have “wet feet.” Mist daily or give high humidity.
