Epidendrum ibaguense (orange)

It’s a great beginner’s orchid because it’s tough and simple to grow. It can reach a height of up to 1 meter. There are two types of Epidendrum ibaguense: terrestrial and lithophytic. It can grow up to 90 centimeters tall and has leaves up to 10 centimeters long. Flowers throughout the year, with clusters of 2.4-4cm orange flowers with a yellow, fringed-edged lip that blooms at any time.

Care

Epidendrum ibaguense loves the bright sun without direct access, so during the midday sun, has to be shielded from direct sunlight by a curtain or other shaded plants. The temperature range for this orchid is between 64 – 77 ° F during the day and 54 – 61 ° F at night. The nighttime temperature should be 42.8 ° F, cooler than the midday temperature for optimum home cultivation.
