Oncidium orchids have varying needs for sunlight. As a general rule, thicker-leaved cultivars require more light. The ideal amount of time in the sun is between one to several hours every day. They require 20-60% shade in the greenhouse. It is best if pots are placed towards the east, south, or west windows.
