Vanilla Tahitensis Bean

In general, Indonesian Tahitian vanilla beans are shorter, plumper, and have a considerably greater oil and water content than Bourbon beans. The scent is floral, fruity, and mellow. It is common to hear them characterized as having a licorice, cherry, or even wine-like scent. The Tahitian (Tahitensis) type is a favorite among pastry makers since it is ideal for a wide range of uses.

Care

The plant need nourishment to achieve this. Every two weeks, use a diluted orchid fertilizer to feed the orchid. Maintain a constant moisture level on the plant by watering regularly but letting it dry out between waterings for 2 to 3 inches (5-8 cm). Keeping an eye out for spider mites and mealybugs is a necessary part of vanilla orchid maintenance.
