Phalaenopsis amboinensis
The Phalaenopsis amboinensis is a robust orchid species native to the Island of Ambon, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. The Phalaenopsis amboinensis grows slowly over many years, producing 4 cm creamy flowers with yellow, orange or red stripes. A mild grass smell.
This orchid is seen to bloom at least once a year here at our nursery.
Grown bareroot in a hanging basket, the Phalaenopsis amboinensis enjoys staying indoors.
8 – 10 hours of indirect sunlight. Place a feet or two away from the window.
Water throughly at the roots when dry (roots turn sliver).
