Dieffenbachia has big ornamental leaves in dark and light green hues. It may grow to be between 2m and 3m tall; however, most houseplants are just 1.3m tall. It enjoys robust and filtered light. Water thoroughly and allow it to dry somewhat between waterings. The common term “Dumb Cane” derives from the fact that the plant’s juice paralyzes the vocal cords! ‘Star Bright’ has big, waxy, variegated green leaves speckled with white, cream, or yellow spots. If eaten, all portions of this plant are toxic, and its sap can cause skin irritation.

Care

Dieffenbachia must be cultivated indoors in temperate climates at a minimum temperature of 5 °C (41 °F). They require light, although filtered sunlight via a window is typically plenty. They also need relatively wet soil that should be fertilized regularly with a special houseplant fertilizer. Leaves will roll up and fall off at regular intervals to create space for new leaves.
