The Encyclia alata orchid is a live Encyclia orchid plant with a fragrant flowering character and cheerful yellow to golden blooms. This orchid belongs to the Oncidium Alliance collection, a group admired for branching sprays, dancing flower shapes, cheerful colours, and long-lasting tropical character. It is suitable for orchid lovers, bright patios, sheltered balconies, home collections, and simple plant gifts.

Oncidium Alliance orchids are appreciated for lively flower displays and relatively simple care when grown in Singapore conditions. Many varieties enjoy bright filtered light, airy growing media, and steady airflow. Place the plant where the leaves receive bright semi-shade, and allow the roots to breathe between watering.

The plant is supplied as a live orchid in a growing pot. Bloom count, spike height, and flower opening may vary naturally because each orchid plant grows at its own pace. This keeps each orchid slightly different while preserving the same fresh nursery-grown quality. If the plant arrives without open flowers, continue the same care routine until the next growth cycle and flower spike develops.

Orchid Care

Grow your Oncidium Alliance orchid in bright filtered light or bright semi-shade with good airflow. Water at the roots after the growing media has almost dried, and let excess water drain away. Avoid leaving roots in standing water, and protect the plant from harsh afternoon sun or strong air-conditioner airflow.

• Fertilizer: Feed lightly during active growth with EzGro NPK Foliar Blue Fertilizer 63. For flowering support, use EzGro NPK Foliar Pink Fertilizer 67.
• Growing Media: Repot when needed with airy orchid growing media, such as coarse charcoal or other fast-draining orchid potting medium.
