Poinsettias should be kept warm on their journey from the store to your home, which should be as brief as feasible. Place your poinsettia in bright, indirect light during the holidays. Allow the soil to dry a little between waterings to avoid standing water on the roots. If your poinsettia arrived wrapped in bright foil, poke holes at the bottom of the foil to allow the pot to drain. Maintain temperatures between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius during the day.
