This event will be held at the beautiful newly renovated Masjid Yusok Ishak.

Get ready for a fun-filled, educational event this 16th September!

Discover the benefits of herbs and spices and learn how to grow these daily green edibles in your HDB flat. Make your own oat cereal prawn / chicken / sotong with some curry leaves, and chilli padi! Add Thai basil while frying with any meat dish to bring up the oompf factor! These herbs are essentials to any Southeast Asian dish.

Fancy some Italian cuisine tonight? Sweet basil, cherry tomatoes and rosemary make the staples to any pasta, pizza dish. Spruce up a simple omelette dish by adding rosemary or dill to grilled fish.

Chase those colds and coughs away with a cup of freshly brewed Mint tea!

Check out the Kokedama workshop ($25) conducted by CIB ambassador, Mr Tony Yau and learn how to create your own cloud garden.

Finally, don’t forget about the talk on Orchid Biology, Culture and Conservation by Dr. Gillian Khew, Deputy Director of Nparks. This event is something green thumbs, corridor growers, family and kids will definitely enjoy!

The answer to last post’s quiz is C! These pencil-like terete leaves belong to our dear National flower, the Papilionanthe (Vanda) Miss Joaquim! The leaves have large surface areas that are well adapted to hot and sunny climates!
