Dischidia platyphylla x Vidalii

Swept off your feet and be tangled by the interesting Dischidia genus, albeit related to the beloved Hoya species, which is largely obscure in the plant world. Known as the ‘Shingle Plant’ because of its unusual floppy and flabby leaves, this fascinating epiphyte is also known as the ‘Shingle Plant.’ In addition, it enjoys a harmonious coexistence with ants. The Dischidia provides a safe haven for the creatures after a long day of fighting off predators and bringing in nutrients for the plant. It prefers bright yet diffused dappled light, and like many other epiphytes, prefers to dry out between waterings. The subtle coolness of this plant can’t be denied, even though it’s not widely recognized.
